On 14th July 2004, B&Q announced its four-year partnership with the British Olympic Association (BOA), with the aim of supporting all athletes selected to represent Great Britain at the Turin 2006 winter and Beijing 2008 summer Olympic Games. The commitment, drive and enthusiasm of Team GB athletes fits perfectly with B&Q’s ‘Let’s Do It’ culture.

B&Q provides invaluable resources, logistical support and advice to the BOA through its strong China presence as well as supporting athletes and their Olympic training venues.

B&Q’s partnership with the BOA and sponsorship of Team GB is brought to life through the company’s very own squad of athletes - Team B&Q. Team B&Q is a group of Olympians and Paralympians hoping to add to their existing medal haul in Beijing, as well as a number of aspiring Olympians and Paralympians who are hoping to compete in Beijing for the first time.

B&Q launched the start of its partnership with Team GB when it sent one of its trademark orange lorries on an eight day mission across Europe to kit out the British Team’s accommodation in Athens, providing athletes with some additional home comforts at the 2004 Olympic Games.

B&Q provides support to the BOA in a number of different ways. It has helped to furnish the British Olympic training camp in Austria and will be assisting the BOA in providing home furnishings for the athlete village in Beijing to ensure Team GB are well rested ahead of their competition.
